Getting a haircut.
Buzzing clippers, hair on your neck, sitting still in a big chair. A lot of it is new. Here is a gentle way to walk through it first.

What to expect
Most haircut meltdowns come from the surprise: the sound, the feeling, the not-knowing-when-it-ends. Walking through the steps first, and naming that the buzzing can feel funny, takes most of the surprise out of it. You know your kid. Change anything.
One tip from a dad who's been there
Ask for the first appointment of the day (quietest), bring headphones, and tell the stylist your child may need a break. A printed first-then card in your kid's hand helps them see the end coming.
